3-16-15 Gold Canyon to Globe, AZ 48 miles

The mileage is lower when the hills get steeper.  The route gave us a nice (relatively) flat warm up, and then turned into a 4-mile climb.  There was an amazing amount of traffic for some reason, but I tried to ignore it.  We had headwinds again which made the entire ride more of a challenge, but I made it!

    Tonto National Forest. WTF! Apparently no one checked that in Spanish "tonto" means "stupid". Gorgeous country nevertheless.

    Chris and I have cycled through Apache Junction many times. The tunnel looks a bit scary ... glad you had an escort!
