5/23/16 Denver, PA to Phoenixville, PA 49 miles

The day started out cooler but warmed up by 10:00 am. The route had a mixture of challenging hills and "Ragbrai Rollers," the kind of rolling hills where we could pedal downhill and be half way up the next! Tomorrow is a rest day so we will be doing laundry, cleaning bikes, seeing the local sites (Valley Forge) and resting up for seven days straight of riding.

5/22/16 Columbia, PA to Denver, PA 38 miles

Today was a "recovery" day.  Only 38 miles, although there were many hills.  Riding out in the country was nice, roads were good, not too much rain, wet roads in the morning however.  Having the day "off" yesterday gave almost everyone fresh legs.  With the short day, we all arrived early.

5/21/16 Owings Mills, MD to Columbia, PA 85 miles

Yesterday was our first day of real hills ~ 4,000 ft of climb, mostly in the second half.  Today was predicted to be quite rainy all day, temps in the low 50's, and hills with 5,700 ft of climb.  For those reasons, almost everyone decided to not ride at all.  There were six hardy souls (not me) that decided to ride in the cold rain spite of the challenges.  As it turned out, they were eventually picked up, mostly because of being too exhausted to do the hills. Several did reach the 70 mile mark, which was amazing!
As scheduled our ride leader, Denise, left today, being replaced by Michelle.
