Wiggins to Pascagoula, MS (67 miles) Saturday, April 17, 2010

We thought yesterday was our most perfect riding day.  Now we are rethinking that.  What hills there were, we enjoyed riding because they were short rollers.  That is the kind that we could ride down in high gear, and coast up to the top of the next hill without changing gears!  Our average speed was up, too.  We had no wind for the first four hours, and the roads were smooth.  Some were new black top, which really gave us an easy ride today!  The route was beautiful, with many trees, birds and lovely homes on those back roads.

We ended up riding for 60 miles before we came to a place we could stop for lunch, but it was only 12:30 anyway.  We found "Country Gentlemen's Restaurant."  They did let us in.
Shortly after, we turned onto a four-lane highway to get across the high bridge in Pascagoula, MS.  It was fun going across, and we were able to see the water way to the Gulf of Mexico.

Tomorrow we will be riding form Pascagoula, Mississippi to Dauphin Island, Alabama.  It will be 42 short miles, and the next day will be our day off!  It will be our only day in Alabama.  Our Lodging list indicates that we won't have Internet connection for two days, so the blog may be held up until Tuesday, April 20th when we get to Pensacola, FL, our next stop.
