Thursday, August 8th "The Gang's all here!" Eagle Vail Condo
The hike Jane and I did the day before was not all the way in, and we 'saved' the entire hike for today.
We drove into the historical Minturn Saloon to have an early dinner.

Tuesday, August 8, Wednesday, August 7, 2013 Eagle Vail
I invited the Ride the Rockies group (6) to stay at our condo in Eagle Vail earlier in the week so we could get acclimated to the elevation before our ride. I arrived Monday evening, and Tuesday Jane Howard came by shuttle from the Denver Airport. After getting her settled, we had dinner at the Avon Deli, and made plans for the next day.
Wednesday thought it would be fun to take a few hours to hike and we decided on one that was within walking distance of the condo. Being from Charlottesville, VA, that could be our first adventure to get used to the altitude.
One of the things Jane really wanted to do was to mountain bike, so I took her to Lions Head in Vail to rent a mountain bike from Vail Tech. We rode up the gondola with the bike inside.
Late Wednesday afternoon, Sharon Howrey drove to the condo from Boulder, CO, and Pam Harrison came from the airport by shuttle. We had a great dinner at the condo (thanks to Sharon), and made plans for the next day.

Sun, Mon Aug 4-5 Driving to Colorado & Stop to see Cousin Doug in Denver
I am doing the WomanTour's Ride the Rockies Aug 9 - 17. I drove out, stopped in Denver to see my cousin, Doug on the way.
Doug's company office is a condos in one of his developments, so I had a very nice place to stay!
We also had time to stop to see Doug's father, Chris. We haven't seen each other for 20 years, but now that he has moved back from Equator, we can! He has not changed a bit in any way!
There are three other riders that will be coming up to our Eagle Vail condo to stay to get acclimated to the altitude. Jane, Pam and Sharon are joining me there until we leave for Frisco and the ride start. We will be doing a little hiking, a little biking, and seeing Vail mountain via the gondolas.
