Sunday, Oct 21, 2012 San Dimeon to Arroyo Grande, CA 56 miles 1,862 ft of climb

The route from San Simeon to Arroyo Grande (Spanish for the Great River) was an especially easy day.  Only 56 miles and the hills were only in a few places.  The rest of the ride was much flatter than we have been used to these past weeks.

It started out overcast, but temps were in the high 50's to low 70's all day.  We even had some sunshine!  There was only one long hill, and we could see the top, so that made it quite 'do-able.'

We seem to be outrunning the rain so far.  There is rain in Monterey right now, only three days ago.  We have been very lucky to have a rain-less ride which is unusual for these areas this time of year.  We have been blessed with a 'weather bubble!'

Talk is now of our last two days...46 miles to Lompoc tomorrow, and then 84 miles to Ventura, the official end of the WomanTours Pacific Coast Ride.

There are 8 of us who have decided to make a 'run for the border,'  riding in three separate groups.  My husband, Dave, volunteered to be our 'Sag' driver, carrying our suitcases and being our safety net along the way.
