3-23-15 Las Cruces, NM to El Paso, TX 60 miles

The first part of our ride today was really fun!  Our route took us through acres of pecan groves, block-long "towns" of differential character, valleys with fields of cotton and red chilies on scrawny bushes like Christmas decorations.  THEN...we were forewarned...we entered the suburbs and the city traffic of downtown El Paso.  (population: 664,400)  Those of us who were used to riding in city traffic were not stressed out about maneuvering the one way streets, but a few were understandably anxious.  The drivers were most courteous and looked out for us without impatience.  Weather was perfect with light winds.  Overall it was an enjoyable day on the Southern Tier.
